Can We Pick Your Brain for a Moment? Recap from ICEM 2025

This month, members of our team, Dr. Jennifer Dawson and Dr. Roger Zemek, attended the International Conference on Emergency Medicine (ICEM) in Montreal to share the latest clinical recommendations from the CAEP endorsed 2024 Living Guideline for Pediatric Concussion at the Educational Marketplace. Developed through a collaborative consensus process involving 48 experts across North America, the Living Guideline equips clinicians with up-to-date recommendations, practical tools to manage concussions acutely, and guide safe discharge planning and referrals.

Our ICEM booth drew in hundreds of emergency medicine professionals who were able to engage in an interactive (and competitive!) tic-tac-toe game with case-based concussion scenarios. We’re grateful for the enthusiastic engagement from attendees and the opportunity to help advance high-quality concussion care. The Living Guideline remains freely accessible at pedsconcussion.com, offering clinicians and the community, an evolving, evidence-based tool to improve outcomes and accelerate recovery for young patients.
